The children's book always was result of a team working of the writer and artist. Specially it concerns the books for the kids - so-called "picture books". A bases of the modern illustrated book for children were laid in the beginning of the twentieth century. As to Ukrainian and Russian book for children, it is possible to call more precise term - 1920th years, when in book publishing for children many outstanding writers and artists have come.
    The State Library of Ukraine for Children has unique collection of the children's book of this period. Some books were kept only in one or two copies, therefore see them the specialists in a reading room of Department of Rare Editions can only.
    And so it would be desirable to divide pleasure of the wonderful children's book with the broad audience of the readers!
    Therefore we also have decided to present these books on our server; we hope, it is interesting and it will be useful both specialists in the field of the children's book, and modern children.
